When this movie was out in theaters, Peter asked me if I wanted to go see it. I'm sure glad I turned him down because this movie was not good. It's about these puppets fighting robots in a demolished city. I don't know if it was because I fell asleep, but I missed the point of the whole movie besides the eye candy animation. This movie was so bad, I wouldn't even watch it on a plane for free.

So I went to see this movie with my 9 year old nephew, and I remembered watching the first one. Quick aside, because of my Alzheimer's, I thought I enjoyed the first one, but I just read my review of part 1 here. Anyway, I knew what to expect coming into the 2nd one, and it met my low expectations. There were a few chuckles here and there, and because it was so "bad," I stayed awake. Of course my newphew loved it. So, if you're forced to watch a kid's movie, this one isn't horrible. Just make sure you rent it and not pay theater prices for it.

This animated flick started out so strong that midway, I thought to myself, "How are they going to climax this movie?" And that's when I fell asleep. I woke up near the end and went, "Ugh, I didn't like the route they chose." The movie is about a kid who invents a machine that turns water into food. I know! Sounds cool huh? That's because it WAS COOL for about 45 minutes. Then things just went downhill...

I didn't really enjoy this movie. I don't know if I just don't like Robert Downey Jr (I hated "Iron Man" too,) or if the movie just wasn't good. First off, it was a little too long. Then it got slow in the middle, which is where I dozed off. By the time I woke up, I could already predict the ending and was just hoping it would end soon. There was just too much dialogue and the plot got a little too convoluted. Save your $10 and wait for the BluRay rental.

I don't know how this movie got rated so high on IMDB. I just didn't enjoy it that much. Of course it could be the fact that I watched it w/o subtitles, and had no idea what the aliens were saying. I remembered watching this trailer and thought it was going to be a lot better. Anyhow, what do other people think? Did I really miss out because I didn't have subtitles?

Oh yeah, I don't know what idiot decided to not force the alien subtitles, but you are a complete idiot! It's not like an alien is going to watch it and turn off the subtitles.

Best movie of 2009! Yup I said it. Also putting it into my top 3 sci-fi movies of all time, behind "Armageddon" and "Independence Day." And I've never even seen a "Star Trek" TV show or movie until today. The casting was almost perfect. Spock was perfect; even James Kirk was great. My only casting gripe was the villian. I don't know; I wish they had picked a more convincing villian than Eric Bana. The Hulk should not be in Star Trek! I'm a huge fan of JJ Abrams too. The movie was action packed but had a great plot and very funny quips. Highly recommended!

First off, I really didn't like the first one. I watched it at a theater and kept shaking my head the whole time at how horrible it was. I didn't want to watch the 2nd one either, but my 10 year old nephew was staying over at the house, and I don't think I could watch "Jennifer's Body" with him. Sure enough, I was knocked out very early in this movie. For such a star studded cast (Ben, Owen, Amy, Robin, Hank Azaria, etc), it was just as bad as the first one. My nephew however enjoyed it. So rent it for the youngins, but not yourself.

Wow, so many random thoughts went through my head as I was watching this movie. Let's get started (don't worry, no spoilers)
  • Ooooh they should turn this into a porno
  • I should have watched this movie in the theater. I'm sure it would have been 10X more scary/better.
  • Wow that's a nice house. For such a baller, why did he have an old school TV in the bedroom?
  • Why didn't they turn ON the lights? That's rule #1 - when you're in the dark and you hear stuff, you turn ON the lights. Rule #2 - when running away from bad guys in the forest in the dark, make sure you don't trip on anything.
  • Why didn't homeboy just dump ol girl?

Verdict? Borrow the movie from a friend or rent it. Definitely don't buy it because you'll never re-watch it again.

If you liked "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Garden State," which I have no recollection since I straight fell asleep through the entire movie, then you'll like this movie. It has that quirky Zach Braff type of humor. At the end of every scene, there's a punchline that makes you smirk. The movie is about a pregnant couple who is trying to decide where to live, and they travel city to city where family and friends are to see if they like that city. This is a great "plane movie," which means don't rent or buy it; just catch it on a plane or TNT one day.

This was another classic Tarantino movie although I still rank the "Kill Bill" movies over this one. Don't get me wrong; I still highly recommend this movie. Truly worth all 2 and a half hours.

I watched this movie on a recommendation by Peter. I had watched the anime years back and enjoyed it. This is the live action version I'm guessing based on the anime and not a remake of the anime (since I've forgotten the plot of the anime already). Anyway, the lead actress is the girl from "My Sassy Girl." It was the perfect role for her, especially since she's wearing a school girl's uniform in half the movie. Movie was enjoyable; kept me awake. My 2 gripes about the movie: the CGI was really aweful and the ending was terrible (it looked like they rushed it).

I've been waiting for this movie to come out on BluRay for quite a while now. I must say, it lived up to the hype. This now has become "THE guy movie," which means girls won't like it or understand it, but all guys love it. I did however start to nod off at the very end just because it was really late, and the movie did get a slow there. However, the end credits woke me back up like some smelling salts. I just hope Joe doesn't expect one of our bachelor parties to top this movie.

So the movie started and I said to myself, "Wow, that's Marlan Wayans. I can't believe he's back in showbusiness." Then after literally 2 minutes, I thought I would never utter these words in all my life, but I actually said, "Tyrese should have been in this movie." I proved my point 10 minutes later when they said Marlan Wayans was supposed to be a weapons expert. Hahahaha yeah right. I liked the Sgt. Slaughter cameo too. Man, you just can't go wrong with a Denzel Washington movie. I thought Travolta overacted his part a bit, and the movie would have been totally different if Denzel wasn't in it. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie up until the ending, where it nosedived into a cliff. Read the spoiler for my rant about the ending.

***** SPOILER ALERT *****

First off, gold could not have spiked nearly 1,000% just because a lunatic took over a subway car. Secondly, why even have the commodities premise and him turning 2 million into 300 million if you're going to have him killed anyway? Why is he even walking around, carrying the duffel bag? If I had 300 million banked, why would i risk carrying around a heavy ass bag that only has 3.3 million in it? It's stupid and ridiculous and ruined the movie. Not to mention how easily Denzel caught up to him. You're telling me this average city-paid employee was able to catch up to the criminal? And why was Travolta even walking around on the middle of the bridge? Where the hell was he going? And why didn't he just jump into the river? Just leave the duffel bag and take your chances! Ugh....

Unlike "Shrek 3," this 3rd installedment of "Ice Age" was hilarious! I found myself laughing and going "Awww what a cutie" throughout the entire movie. My only gripe with the movie was that the voice of the 2 married mammoths were Ray Romano and Queen Latifah. No matter how hard I tried to picture them married, I just couldn't do it, much less conceiving and expecting a baby together. Other than that, wonderful movie, no matter if you're a child or an adult.

The move is so off the wall, unique, and interesting that I couldn't help but stay awake. I don't know what it is about watching movies about poor people; I think it's partly because I empthasize with them and partly because I'm just glad I don't have to go through their struggles, but I enjoy watching them. Wow. What a confusing movie. I was thoroughly confused throughout the entire movie. Even now, as I write this, I'm still confused. However, because it was so confusing, I stayed awake throughout the entire movie. Then again, it has been ages since I last watched Julie Roberts in a starring role. I kept thinking to myself, "Wow, she still looks just as good now as when she was in 'Pretty Woman.'" I don't know if I liked the movie, but at least, I didn't totally regret watching it. I don't know what happened after the 40 minute mark (I kept waking up, going "Huh? what the hell's going on?", and then falling back asleep), but what I did see, I didn't like. The movie was too slow to develop and the a-hole schtick doesn't work for you. Plus, I'm not a fan of Michael Douglas's corpse or ghosts in general. Plus, I love how in movies you can't touch a ghost, but a ghost can push you back while another ghost is bent behind you, thus making you fall on your ass. Yeaaahhhh, at least keep things consistent!

I just randomly ran into it. Anyhow, the movie is billed as a "quirky romantic comedy." Let me tell you. It wasn't "quirky." It was ABSURD. Absurd as in Matthew McConaughey seeing ghosts of ex girlfriends was more believable. I don't know how I managed to stay awake in this movie. I think I was so angry about how unbelievable it was that I just couldn't wait to see how over the top they would go. I mean, I was waiting to see cows fly out of Jennifer's ass. That wouldn't have surprised me at all. So just pass on this one.

  • The dog in the movie is one of the cutest dogs I've ever seen
  • The house...WOW! What a house!

My only quip were the names of the girls. Seriously? Gertrude and Margaret? Margaret definitely should have been a "Kate" and Gertrude should have been a "Sarah." My only other big complaint will be in the spoiler

***** SPOILER ALERT *****

When Sandra fell in the water, shouldn't she have gone under? If she couldn't swim, how does she stay afloat? And then to be able to swim to the buoy that was a good 10 feet away from her? C'mon now. That was my only gripe

Leg 2 of my "terrible movies I need to catch up on." I was expecting this one to suck as bad as "Fast and Furious" since that's what Peter had told me. However, it really wasn't THAT aweful. I guess the key is to have really really low expectations. Some things that went through my head when I was watching the movie:
  • What is Ryan Reynolds doing in this movie? He's such a stud. However, he's not as ripped as he was in "Blade Trinity."
  • Why is Will.i.am in this movie? What? Was Tyrese busy?
  • Those "bone" claws look realistic. Isn't he supposed to have metal claws? [fast forward]. Ugh...those metal claws look too fake.
  • Holy shit! Hugh Jackman is RIPPED! I wonder if actors use steroids to bulk up like this for movies?
  • Which X-Men character is that?

So, I'd say the first half to even 3/4 of the movie was "decent." Then the shit hit the fan at the end. The ending was terrible and left a bad taste in my mouth. Rent the movie if you're really desperate, but pass if you have better things to do with your time. Next stop - "Chun Li the movie."

The rest of the movie was so dull and boring that I wish I had been doing something else. The funny thing is that Jerry Bruckheimer produced it; yeah, good move pal. And another thing, the fashion in it was hideous. The shoes were hot, but the dresses...not so much. Do yourself a favor and watch "Devil Wears Prada" again than watching this atrocity.

Mark this day. This is the first movie I fell asleep in, and instead of plowering through it for the sake of finishing it, Ijust turned it off, making better use of my time. I had such high hopes for the movie too. I usually love Clive Owen movies and Naomi Watts is a cutie. However, the plot started off so slowly that I immediately got confused in the first 5 minutes. My biggest gripe about the movie was that, right off the bat, they introduced 2 characters, Schulman and Salinger. Seriously?!? I'm supposed to remember who is Schulman and who is Salinger?!? In a "spy" movie where knowing each character is vital to the plot of the movie? They couldn't name the 2nd character "Wallowitz" or something?!? That way, I have a decent chance of remembering which character was which. This movie reminded me of "The Bank Job," which some people raved about, but I hated as well. Clive is now on my poo-poo list. So I fell asleep at the 35 minute mark; tried to watch some more, and gave up at the 1 hour mark. Maybe you'll enjoy it more than I did. After that abomination of a movie called Transformers 2, I decided to go back to the tried and true cartoon version of "Transformers: The Movie. " First off, let me say that I can only remember about a dozen movies that I have seen more than once. I think I wore out my VHS copy of this movie when I was a kid. I used to collect Transformers (still have some today), I used to collect the comic books, and I used to watch the TV show. The great thing about this movie was that it came out after a season or two of the TV show, and it was mind-blowing. First of all, the TV show never really introduced any new Transformers, and this movie was like the All-Stars of Transformers. It introduced so many new toys that it gave every fanboy a hard-on. Not only that, in the TV show, no Transformer ever died. After this movie, so many Transformers died that they had to dub the next season of the TV show "Generation 2." And I think I even cried when Optimus died. Just nuts. Even today, I enjoyed every minute of this 90 minute movie. Oh, if you enjoyed this movie, you HAVE to watch the 3 part miniseries that came on TV right after this movie. It introduced the Headmasters. Am I getting too excited? I think so.

So I watched the IMAX movie of this movie, which you would think would be a great idea since you want the great surround sound and the big screen for the CGI. However, it turned out to be a bad idea. I sat in the middle center of the theater, which was probably the optimal location, but the screen was so big that I could only focus on what was happening in the middle of the screen. This was great for the gratuitous shots of Megan Fox, but when you have chunks of metal colliding with each other, I couldn't make sense of who was fighting, what was going, etc. I did doze off for a couple of seconds in the middle of the show, and if I had watched this in primetime, I most likely would have fallen asleep, which would have been a good thing because this movie was terrible. You know a movie is bad when you look at your watch an hour into the movie and go, "Crap, I have another hour and a half to go." Here are some random things that went through my head when I was watching the movie:
  • Wow, Megan Fox is hot.
  • I'd much rather have watched the cartoon version of this movie.
  • Which Transformer is that?
  • I wish I was watching Armageddon; at least that movie got me more fired up at the end.
  • Oh jeez, Tyrese IS THE WORST ACTOR OF OUR TIME.
  • What is with all these one-liners?
  • I wish I was at home continuing the 7th season of "24."
  • Why does it smell so funky in this movie? Is it the fat guy next to me?
  • I'm not watching another IMAX movie again unless it was made for IMAX.
  • Boy, I'm glad Michael Bay isn't doing a 3rd one.
  • I don't remember a Transformer named "Fallen."
  • Why hasn't Shia and Megan's character died from all the shit flying around?
  • Megan Fox has bad complexion.
  • I wonder if I'll hit traffic due to the gay pride parade going on outside?

I just wasn't into this movie. Sorry. It had one of the best all-star casts since "Love Actually," but it just didn't connect with me. I think maybe even the all-star cast distracted me from the plot of the movie. I think the movie made some great points about guys and dating, but I don't know... I just didn't like it as much as "Love Actually." I do know however that if my wife was Jennifer Connely and Scarlett Johannson was hitting on me, I'd have a brain aneurysm because I wouldn't know what to do. That's like asking me if I'd like to give up both of my legs for the ability to fly. The answer - I'd like both please!

I was watching this on the plane on my way to Europe since nothing else was on and the other movies like Valkrye, I wanted to save until I got home to watch on the big TV with surround sound. Anyway, I had to restart this movie like 3 times since the US Airways plane kept having problems with the TV system. I think that was a sign for me to stop watching because this movie was TERRIBLE! I love chick flicks as much as the next chick, but this movie just wasn't funny. It didn't make me cry. It didn't make me chuckle. I just wanted for it to end as soon as possible. Stay away from this movie!

Time to blast away at this stupid movie! First off, I have loved every Pixar movie to date. I can't remember one that I did not enjoy. Well, this would be the first. My problem with this movie is that the main character is a grumpy old man. Now why would I want to watch my grumpy old grandpa in a movie? To answer that question, I DON'T! I have a feeling this was because Pixar was sold to Disney about 2 years ago, and since it takes 2 years to do a movie, I can only imagine that goat Michael Eisner green lighting this project.

The 2nd problem I had with this movie was this - okay, I will buy the fact that this old man used balloons to float his ass to South America. Chances of that happening in real life? NONE! But I'll believe it for this movie. However, what I won't believe is the fact that when the grumpy old man was a kid, he watched this Howard Hughes-like character in a movie. Next thing you know, the kid grows up to be a grumpy old man and the Howard Hughes character IS STILL ALIVE!?!? That puts HH at around 150 years old! I'll even give you the dodo bird like character, but HH being alive...sorry, that ruined the movie for it. That and the fact that the movie was neither funny or enjoyable.

The best part of the movie wasn't even in the movie. The best part was the short animation about the clouds at the very beginning. I should have just walked out of the theater at that point.

And oh yeah, the 3D was utterly pointless. The movie would have been fine in 2D.

This movie was recommended to me by Gene, and Joe had some coworkers recommend it to him as well. I am a big fan of kung fu movies, but this one was just...not good. I loved the first 30 minutes of it before the big climax. And then after that, things started to go down hill. It went from "Hero" to "Bloodsport." Not a fan at all. Movie was enjoyable, but I wouldn't really recommend it. It's IMDB rating is way too high too.

First of all, some disclaimers: 1) I've never read "Da Vinci Code" and 2) I fell alseep through the "Da Vinci Code" movie and can't remember anything that happened after the first 15 minutes. With that said, I think you can already guess that I did NOT enjoy this movie. I usually like these types of thrillers, and I guess you really didn't need to have watched the first movie to understand this one. My biggest grip about this movie was how UNBELIEVABLE everything was. I am fine with Gallileo transcribing hidden English in an ancient book; that I will give you. However, I can't believe that Tom Hanks can 1) get access to the book, 2) find the book, 3) find the hidden text, 4) drive throughout Rome ALL WITHIN ONE HOUR. FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES!!! Sorry, I don't buy it. The only reason why I didn't fall asleep was because I was so busy rolling my eyes at how unbelievable the whole moviewas.

So this movie was INTERESTING to say the very least. I wasn't sure what I was expecting coming into the movie, but after everything was said and done, I sorta enjoyed the movie... I was quite impressed with the cinematography of the movie; I know you notice it in movies like "Crouching Tiger...," but this may be the first "urban" movie that had really great camera angles. I'm not sure what camcorder the director chose to shoot the movie, but it certainly looks better than most movies. So enough beating around the bush, read the spoiler alerts to get to the good stuff.

***** SPOILER ALERT *****

This movie had me tripping out. First it went from a half porno romantic movie to a movie about the war to a "Notebook" esque ending. Just plain nuts! Here are my ramblings:

1. Now please tell me why he didn't go see her when she was on trial? He was at the jail and ready to go in, but turned around. Was he still angry at her for leaving him? Was he STILL that heartbroken after 10 years to not go see her? Or maybe it was because he hated what she had done to the Jews? I don't know. If that was me, I would have at least gone to talk to her. To at least find out why she left all of a sudden. At the very least, he could have at least told his professor.... but I guess he didn't want to reveal her secret.

2. Did it seriously take her 3 years to learn to read? C'mon, you're in prison and have nothing else better to do. That should have taken her 3 months!

3. I'm not quite sure who the mother of his daughter is. Not sure if that was a significant plot twist that I missed. Either way, I'm not sure why he felt compelled to tell her the story at the very end there.

4. Did he seriously have to be so callous to her when he finally visited her in prison? He obviously still loved and cared for her since he was recording all those tapes for her. I think he was just trying to be a "hard-ass," and you see what happened? She done and went and killed herself. Life lesson - you don't get "do-overs" in life, so you had better make sure you know what you're doing before you do it. That guilt would have messed me up for YEARS!

5. With that said, I think she should have at least told him why she left all of a sudden. Now he'll never know...

First of all, let me say that I LOVED watching Mike Tyson fight while growing up. I wasn't able to watch that many fights since we were poor and barely had cable, let alone Pay Per View, but the fights that I did get to see, I was mesmerized. I never got to watch Ali fight, but in "my generation," I think Tyson was the best heavyweight fighter. His ferocity in the ring went unmatched, and his early round knockouts were legendary. This movie was a documentary about his life, narrated by the man himself. You get a glimpse into his mind, especially when he says, "Insanity was my sanity." You get to understand why he went "crazy," and why he bit off Evander's ear. After watching the movie, I'm glad he bit it off. Evander was a little punk bitch by head butting him all the time. Anyway, the movie was good, and you should definitely watch it if you're a Tyson fan.

I was impressed with myself for not falling asleep through this movie, although I have to be honest, if this movie had gone 15 minutes longer (90 minute movie), I woulda been knocked out because I was fading in and out at the end there. So I loved the "Underworld" series; I don't know if I love it more than the "Resident Evil" series, but they're both my favorites. I was HIGHLY disappointed that my girl Kate Beckinsale wasn't in this movie, but then again, this was supposed to be a prequel, so it wouldn't have made sense for her to be in it. I wasn't complaining when I realized Rhona Mitra was in the movie though. She looked as hot as she did when she had a part on "Boston Legal." All in all, it was a good movie. Definitely worth renting, maybe buying if you already have the first 2 in your collection. I do hope that the series ends here though; I can already tell that a fourth installment will just degrade the quality of the entire series.

WOW! What a GREAT movie! I do have to throw out the disclaimer that I loved watching wrestling growing up and Randy "The Macho Man" Savage was one of my favorites. I'm not sure if the movie was based on his life or not, butMickey Rourke's character definitely reminded me of him. I loved how the movie was shot mostly from the main character's point of view, with the camera over his shoulder. I don't know if Mickey used 'roids to bulk up for this role, but he certainly looked like he had been wrestling for 30 years. I think Mickey should have gotten the Oscar for this role. I think the Academy just felt bad for not giving Sean Penn one yet, so gave it to him for "Milk," when in fact, Mickey gave a much better performance. And Marissa Tomei...wow! I had heard she still had a banging body in this movie, and sure enough, she did not disappoint. There's not that many movies that make you emotionaly connect with the main character, but this one surely did. I felt so bad for him and wanted him to succeed, and I felt the hurt when things didn't go his way. GREAT GREAT MOVIE! Highly recommend it!

That's someone else!" and then kept dozing off and on for the next 15 minutes and then said, "Oh to hell with this movie" and turned it off. So I thought this movie was going to be a disaster movie like "Armageddon," and so I was getting giddy in the first 5 minutes. By the 15 minute mark, you find out it's an extraterrestrial movie like "War of the Worlds," and that's when I rolled my eyes and started to lose interest. Then by the 30 minute mark, you find out the alien is played by Keanu Reeves. SERIOUSLY?!?! That's just a recipe for disaster? When was the last good Keanu movie? "Speed?" Even then, it was more about the movie rather than the actor. I did enjoy "Point Blank" and "Bill and Ted" back in the day though. I don't know; after "Speed," it all seemed to go downhill for Keanu. Back to the movie...the biggest issue I have about these alien movies is that you can point out so many holes in the movie that you just start disbelieving it. I know aliens are fiction, but you can't have the characters not shit in their pants when they see it. Or RUN FROM IT. Who would walk towards an alien? C'mon... this movie was so bad I just couldn't wait for it to end. Sorry Jennifer Connelly, even you couldn't carry this stink bomb!

I had no idea what the plot was about. I know I liked Amy Adams and that Meryl Streep should have won the Oscar. However, five minutes into the movie, I could tell this was going to be a snoozefest, and sure enough, it was. About 25 minutes in, I was in and out of consciousness not knowing what the hell was going on. At one point, Amy's character got a letter on a park bench, and the next minute, the movie was over. I don't think I would have enjoyed the movie if I stayed awake anyway. Let me know otherwise.

I watched this movie over the weekend on a lazy afternoon, not expecting too much out of this movie. After all, when was the last FUNNY Jim Carrey movie? Ace Ventura? I felt this movie should have been made back in the 1990's at the height of his career. The movie was the typical Jim Carrey movie; reminded me very much of "Liar, Liar." The Katy Perry girl really stole the movie though; all of her scenes were funny. Only once the credits started rolling did I realize she wasn't Katy Perry, but actually Zooey Deschanel. Would I recommend this movie? If you're a Jim Carrey fan or if you like funny romantic comedies, you should at least rent the movie.

Any one else disturbed by the fact that if someone told you that they were a vampire, you'd flip the F out and go crazy? I don't know. I would. Movie was somewhat entertaining; I only fell asleep because it was really late. I didn't think it lived up to all the hype though. First of all, leave it up to the Americans to ruin a perfectly good Korean movie. You can NOT cast Elisha Cuthbert in this role. You need a crazy girl to play the part; Elisha's too "Barbie doll." You need the girl from "Juno" or the girl from "Single White Female" when she was a teenager. Secondly, the movie was so bad that half way through, I decided to watch it on my computer while chatting with friends online; yup, I stopped giving it my undivided attention. I can only count ONE scene that actually made me laugh in the entire movie, and it was the part when he steps up to a urinal and sees his date pee'ing beside him. The Korean version was a romantic drama that had unintentionally funny scenes in it. This remake was also a romantic drama but the comedy felt forced, which in the end, doesn't make it funny at all. Plus, the Korean version pulled at the heart strings and made you want to cry; this one made me thank God that the movie was over. I took one for the team on this one. You guys owe me!

Oh man, leave it to the Koreans to make you laugh hysterically one minute and cry in the next. If you haven't watched the first one, you must... well, if you're an Asian male that is. The first one makes "American Pie" look like a G-rated movie, and this one is no different. It follows the same recipe as the first one, but yet it doesn't get old. I don't think I've laughed this hard in a movie in quite a while, at least not in any Judd Apatow or American made movie. I don't think the ladies will like this movie because it is a bit vulgar and gross, but like I said, if you're an Asian male, you'll find it hilarious. MUST MUST WATCH!

You could tell it tried to put a comedic spin on a romantic drama, but it really didn't come out that funny. It certainly was no "Titanic" or even a "Legends of the Fall." The best thing about the movie was that I learned the Japanese also attacked Australia after Pearl Harbor. Thanks for that tidbit of information. This guy is the British version of Will Ferrel or the 2nd coming of Mr. Bean. The movie was so unfunny that I literally wanted to stop watching it around the 1 hour mark. Currently, I'll put up with the movie to see the ending, but I'm sure in the near future, I'm just going to cute my losses short. And yes, even Megan Fox couldn't save this movie!

Seeing as how I wasn't enjoying some of these newer comedic movies of late, I wanted to go back and watch my all time favorite comedy. It probably is my all time favorite movie too. If I were stranded on a deserted island, I'd take this movie with me. I can't even remember how many times I watched this movie throughout high school and college. However, this is the all new UNRATED version on BluRay, so I wanted to see the new clips. I counted about 5 new clips; the longest being a new clip of Lloyd and Harry in the hot tub at the love hotel. I won't go into details, but it makes them even more homo than before. The funny thing is that although I hadn't watched this movie in YEARS, I still laughed all the way through. Even after knowing what scene was coming next, it still brought me laughter. Plus, he's married to Scarlet Jo. C'mon, give the guy some credit! Anyhow, about the movie, I don't know why it never made it to BluRay. It also stars Elizabeth Banks, Rachel Weisz, the red headed girl from "Wedding Crashers," that and that cuter version of Dakota Fanning child actress. This movie was a total chick flick. It was about Ryan's character explaining to his daughter how he met her mother. It was a "which one was the mom" among the 3 female actresses. All in all, I thought it was a very enjoyable movie although I really didn't believe the ending. Definitely worthy of a rental.

I think all the funny parts were in the trailers. I can't believe IMDB gave this movie a 7.5. It makes me wonder if I've become unfunny because of old age. Is it because I've seen so many of these types of movies that I am now immune to this type of humor? This may also explain why I think Maxim magazine is no longer funny either. So I started to watch this movie the other day, and 15 minutes into the movie, I was absolutely confused. Then I passed out. Then that night, I wanted to continue watching the movie, but I needed to read the synopsis on IMDB so I knew what the hell was going on. Even after reading the synopsis and going back to the movie, even 1:30 into the movie, I was a little confused. Only within the last 10 minutes did everything click. Maybe I'm just slow. Either way, I don't like movies that confuse me. Boo on you Will Smith! As you all know, Anne Hathaway was nominated for an Oscar for her role in this movie. I haven't seen Kate Winslett's performance yet, but Anne really did a great job in this movie. As for the movie itself, I really enjoyed it. It's about a woman (Anne's character) who just got out of rehab to attend her sister's wedding. Near the beginning of the movie, I was a little upset at the casting director for casting such an ugly guy to be the groom. I mean, the bride was a very attractive woman, and so that mismatch kind of disturbed me. But as I watched it some more, because he was so ugly, it made the movie even more endearing. However, near the end of the movie, I started to get mad at the movie because it tried too hard to be "indie," "eccentric," "cute," or any other synonym. There was no need for the Indian and African themed wedding. There was no need for the token Asian couple. There was no need for the groom to even be black. The movie was supposed to be about Anne's character, and I felt all that unnecessary "fluff" made it distracting. The movie just seemed to try too hard. However, the ending wrapped up pretty nicely, and so it got back to being on my good graces. Good movie. Quirky but good.

This may be the lowest rated IMDB movie I've ever watched and stayed awake through. This is one of those spoof movies that you should only watch while you're under the influence, else you will hate yourself afterwards, like I do now.

You know you can't go wrong with a Leo Dicaprio, Russel Crowe, and Ridley Scott movie. I can't remember the last "bad" Leo movie...maybe "The Beach." I know Russel has done some duds since "Gladiator," but most of his movies are good. Same for Ridley. The movie is about the whole war in Iraq/Middle East situation. I do have some minor gripes about the movie...really minor. Read it after you've seen the movie.

***** SPOILER ALERT *****

First off, what was Leo thinking with that girl? He's on a mission, not vacation. She should have never been in the picture. Secondly, I honestly don't see him exchanging his life for hers. Sorry, he's a little too important to be killed. Third, as I was watching the ending, I was dreading the typical "bad American ending".... you know, the one where the hero gets miraculously saved. This one came close to it, but backed down to a more believable ending. Then again, you know that lacky Kiram should NOT have been in that room in the first place. Plus, how did the rescue team get there in time? And was it the Syrian police or Jordan police? Questions that may never be answered...

Remind me to never move in next to a police officer, especially one as crazy as Mr. Samuel L. Jackson. This movie was surprisingly good. Not great, but not as crappy as I was expecting. It's the typical cop drama, but it also hit on the race card, interracial dating, corrupt cops, child abuse, etc. However, the ending was TERRIBLE. Once you've seen it, read the spoiler about my rant on it.

***** SPOILER ALERT *****

Alright, you KNOW what I'm going to talk about. How did homeboy NOT put the gun down? 99.9% of people would put the gun down in that situation because 1) they're going to eventually cuff the cop and see the gun in his back and 2) he has the phone and the phone records to prove the cop was corrupt. Worst case, you tell internal affairs and have them check the cell phone log. PLUS, you're risking your life because he could have easily put that bullet in your head instead of just your chest. Horrible, horrible ending!

So I never played the video game or read the comic book (if there even is one), but I figured you can't go wrong with Marky Mark right? And I WAS right. The casting was great. The only other actor that could have played the main character was maybe Clive Owen. Anyhow, the problem with the movie was the storytelling was horrible...that or the plot just sucked ass. I was lost for the first 30 minutes and when I woke up, I had lost interest in the movie already. To be honest, I don't even know why I didn't just turn it off like I did "Hitman." Maybe it was the cutie from the "70's Show" that made me keep watching, or maybe it was Marky Mark. Either way, just stay away from this movie!

The Women

So I have lots of commentary on this movie. Let's fire away. First off, one of the gimmicks for the movie was that no man was in the movie, as in no male extras or even a man's voice on the phone. Secondly, the movie is about a woman (Meg Ryan) who gets cheated on by her rich husband with the hot Eva Mendes and how she deals with it. Three, don't be mislead by the low IMDB rating. This movie was actually good. I was going to type "really good," but I figured that would emasculate me more than necessary. I asked myself throughout the entire movie why I was staying awake. It could have been the fashion (yeah, the women's coats in it were on point...dare I say better than the ones in "Get Smart." Sorry "Devil Wears Prada," I didn't notice any nice coats in you.). Alright, that last sentence totally emasculated me. Whatever. It could have been the all star cast (Jada Pinkett Smith steals the movie). Or the best reason why I stayed awake... I put myself in the place of the cheating husband. I saw how the family was torn apart, I saw what it did to Meg's character, I saw the unseen misery it did to him, and frankly, I don't want to end up like that guy.

Throughout the entire movie, I wondered who the right audience was for the movie. If you're a man-hating woman who got cheated on, I don't know if you'd enjoy it (or at least the first 90 minutes) because it would justify your man-hate. If you're a lesbian, then you'd come out going, "See, this is why I'm a lesbian." If you're a girl who somehow drugged your man into watching this movie with you, I don't know if he'd be comfortable after the movie since you'd probably ask him something to the tune of, "Would you cheat on me with a hot young girl when I get old?" Even if you didn't verbally ask him, you'd definitely think about it and put it in the back of your mind. So if you are a heterosexual girl (single or in a relationship), I don't think you should watch it at all. No good can come out of watching this movie. Certainly don't make your man watch it with you. The best thing you should do is buy him a copy of the movie and make him watch it ALONE!

I don't even know how to comment on this movie. It's like "Superbad" for little teenage romantic girls. There was so much talking, unfunny dialogue at that, that it just knocked me out. Imagine the scrawny little main character in "Superbad" talking for 90 minutes. He has such a monotonous voice that....zzzzzzzzzzz.

So I started this movie nearly 3 months ago, and the only reason why I finished it today was 1) I like closure and 2) it was interesting enough for me to finish. The movie was referred to me by Chanh because Lucy Liu stars in it. Plus, I usually find vampire movies entertaining. However, while watching the rest of it tonight, I actually fell asleep again. I don't even know where to begin with this movie... First off, it's a Chinese movie. Second, it's a comedy, a romantic comedy perhaps. Third, it's about a girl who works as a lingerie researcher. Fourth, the movie really doesn't "flow;" there are 4 different stories and it sorta randomly moves in and out among them. It's a great movie for people with ADD. I thought I was going to stay awake for the movie since it was so quirky and strange that it piqued my interest. However, all the switching of subplots made me disinterested and I fell asleep.

So this movie was a little bit hyped up. It got nominated for a Golden Globe and my boy Gene said he enjoyed it. The movie is about 2 hitmen having to hide out in a city called Bruges, in Brussels. Throughout the whole movie, the characters made fun of the city since no one knew where it was. Anyhow, the movie was a dark comedy. You have to really like sarcasm and dry humor to really enjoy it. I remember 45 minutes into the movie, I said to myself, "Wow, I can't believe I'm still awake. This movie isn't bad." Next thing you know ZZZZzzzzzzz. I don't care about the 8.0+ IMDB rating; I didn't enjoy it enough to recommend it.

You guys know that Seth Rogen and these Judd Apatow movies were walking on thin ice with me of late. Luckily for them, this movie was actually pretty good. I'm going to give credit to Kevin Smith for not making this movie sucked. Very entertaining. Funny but not over the top. I really enjoyed it.

I've always enjoyed Woody Allen movies ever since Scarlett started doing them. Who am I kidding? I just watch them for Scarlett. Anyhow, this one was your typical quirky Woody movie. I really only fell asleep because I was really tired, and not because the movie was bad. When I did wake up, I was wide awake, curious to see how it would end. I'd recommend the movie; definitely very watchable.

Besides the beautiful visuals and the cute Asian actress, this was just another ho-hum action flick. I enjoyed the first 2 "Mummy" movies, but this one just didn't do it for me. The first 2 were set in a desert, which is what I think about when I think of mummies. This one was set in China in the mountains. Don't even get me started on the yeti's that showed up. You know a movie is bad when you can't wait for it to end.

Wow, I never thought I'd fall asleep in this movie. Let me first say that I LOVED the first "Saw." If you haven't seen it, then you MUST watch it. I mean, they are coming out with a 6th one, so people must love the series right? Trust me. Watch it. Then watch 2 and 3 right afterwards. Then STOP! The "Saw" series was meant to be a trilogy. Then I think the studio decided it was too successful to stop there and made 4 and 5. Let's just say that 4 and 5 are not as good as the first 3. In fact, when I started watching this one, I had to rewatch the last 15 minutes of 4 so I could remember what happened. Even then, I still was lost because it just so happened that the 2 main characters in 5 look very similar and their names are similar too. Why couldn't one be named "Smith" and the other "Matabangalang?" I'd definitely remember who was whom then. When 6 comes out, I'm going to watch it, but I'm never going to enjoy it as much as the first one....

Can someone please ask Anna Faris to stop doing these types of roles? It's like..c'mon, after the "Scary Movie," series, you should just stop! The dumb blonde bimbo roles are getting to be too much. As for the movie itself, HORRIBLE! It's one of those movies where if you had watched it in the theater, you'd walk out at the end and realize you just got bamboozled out of $10.

I never played the video games because they were too scary for me. However, I loved the first 2 action flicks. This one was a CGI movie. I thought I was going to like it, but then mid way through, I realized I had "been there, done that" before, and so I fell asleep, woke up later and just wanted to turn the movie off. Maybe if you liked that "Final Fantasy" CGI movie and the video game starring Leon, then you'll like this movie, but it wasn't for me.

Can we officially say that Dane Cook's 15 minutes is up? This movie was not even remotely funny. I don't even know what Kate Hudson was thinking. OH SHIT, don't f*ck with Liam Neeson! Don't ask me how I have this movie on BluRay when it's just about to open in theaters. If you remember from the trailer, the movie is about this daughter being kidnapped and the father has to go find her. Of course you already know what happens in the end, but man oh man, watching the movie just gets your adrenaline pumping because you just place yourself in Liam's character and want to whoop some ass too! Forget Jason Bourne and Bond, Liam's character is one bad ass mofo. Definitely one of the better movies I've seen in a long time.

Man, I was so close to staying awake the whole time too... This movie was LONG! However, it didn't actually feel long until the last 15 minutes or so. I don't know. I really enjoyed the movie. I wanted to say it was the best movie in 2008. But I just can't... It's certainly the best comic book movie though. I like how it's very unique compared to those Marvell movies (X-Men, Spiderman, Iron Man, etc). Ever since "Batman Begins," I love the new dark tone to the Batman series. My biggest gripe throughout the whole movie was - Maggie Gyllenhall. C'mon seriously?!? Was that the best actress you could find? Was ANY OTHER ACTRESS IN HOLLYWOOD not available? I just didn't believe every scene she was in. She's just too ugly to be Bruce Wayne's girl. Sorry. She is. My only other gripe was the ending, which I won't give away. The people who have seen it know what I'm talking about.

Haha so this movie started off much different than what I expected after seeing all the trailers and previews. By the end, I appreciated "No Country for Old Men" more. The Coen brothers like to skip scenes and let the viewers use their imagination. This movie was so quirky and so weird that I just had to stay awake. Enjoyable? Yeah sorta of. Recommend that you watch? Yeah sort of. Good thing it was only 90 minutes long or else I'd go crazy since it was so....weird. That's the only word I can use to describe this movie.

You know what Will Ferrel reminds me of now? He's like that magazine Maxim. When it first came out, it was a very funny and entertaining men's magazine. Have you opened one up lately? I could go cover-to-cover and not even chuckle once. I'd be happy if it brought a smirk to my face. And that's how I feel about Will Ferrel movies lately. I don't know if I just got older and more mature and don't see his comedy funny and entertaining anymore, or if it's just him. I want to say it's him though. Hmmmmm...

Yeah, this movie sucks. It's like "Transporter" meets "Shawshank Redemption" (minus the touchy feely part) meets that video game "Twisted Metal." I usually like Jason Statham movies, but I knew this movie would suck as soon as I saw Tyrese, who as you all already know, is the WORST ACTOR ALIVE. Ironically though, if it was playing on TNT and you were doing something else like clipping your toe nails, then you could leave it on...

So I like chick flicks as much as the next girl, and this was supposed to be one of those memorable ones like "The Notebook" and my all time favorite "Serendipity." I also remembered that I hadn't watched one since that Keanu/Sandra letter writing pitiful excuse of a chick flick, so I figured I'd fire this bad boy up tonight. The movie is about a widow that receives love letters that her late husband had written her before his death. At first, you're thinking, "Awww how sweet and cute is that..." But then you get to thinking, "Wait...isn't he just torturing her some more since he's just dragging out her sorrow?" Of course the movie only shows you the "Awwww" parts and not the parts where she's miserable in bed, not showering, not cleaning up, crying all the time, etc. I guess you already know how I felt about this movie.... at least I didn't fall asleep right?
