Confessions of a Shopaholic

I loved the premise of this movie, but it turned out to be a TERRIBLE movie. It elicited only 2 emotional responses from me at all - I chuckled when she asked, "You speak Prada?" and "Don't wear it with yellow." The rest of the movie was so dull and boring that I wish I had been doing something else. The funny thing is that Jerry Bruckheimer produced it; yeah, good move pal. And another thing, the fashion in it was hideous. The shoes were hot, but the dresses...not so much. Do yourself a favor and watch "Devil Wears Prada" again than watching this atrocity.

Gran Torino

Finally! A movie that I enjoyed and would highly recommend to everyone. I love race relation movies like "Crash" and "Lakeview Terrace." Not because I want people to be aware that most people are still racist these days; it's because there are so few of them made that every new one puts an interesting spin on the issue. And because of that, the movies are interesting, and they keep me awake. Plus, this movie was like an old white man's version of "Boyz 'N the Hood." I loved the ending too. Highly recommend you watch it!

Fanboys

Let me just say that I am not a Star Wars fanboy. Heck, I don't even think I enjoyed the newer trilogy all that much. With that said, I still had high hopes for this movie due to the high IMDB rating. It was funny for the first minute and just went downhill from there. The movie had such a great plot, but it just wasn't funny. It had great cameos and that hottie Kristen Bell (the only good thing about the movie), and by the end, I thought it was a Judd Apatow movie because I recognized all the cameo actors. I kept hoping it would get funnier, but it never did. The movie was just too stupid to put me to sleep.

The International

Mark this day. This is the first movie I fell asleep in, and instead of plowering through it for the sake of finishing it, Ijust turned it off, making better use of my time. I had such high hopes for the movie too. I usually love Clive Owen movies and Naomi Watts is a cutie. However, the plot started off so slowly that I immediately got confused in the first 5 minutes. My biggest gripe about the movie was that, right off the bat, they introduced 2 characters, Schulman and Salinger. Seriously?!? I'm supposed to remember who is Schulman and who is Salinger?!? In a "spy" movie where knowing each character is vital to the plot of the movie? They couldn't name the 2nd character "Wallowitz" or something?!? That way, I have a decent chance of remembering which character was which. This movie reminded me of "The Bank Job," which some people raved about, but I hated as well. Clive is now on my poo-poo list. So I fell asleep at the 35 minute mark; tried to watch some more, and gave up at the 1 hour mark. Maybe you'll enjoy it more than I did. Let me know if I should finish watching it...
